Bob Murray joined NewsRadio 1240 WTAX in May of 2003. Bob is the host of Morning Newswtach from 5:30am-9AM.
Bob has nearly 40 years of broadcasting experience ranging from an on-air personality on the radio to a television weatherman in Springfield and Decatur.
Bob is very involved with the community always being an emcee for an event or taking part in promoting some cause. |

Michelle Eccles is WTAX's Program/News Director. She can typically be heard anchoring news in the evenings.
Michelle has been at NewsRadio 1240 WTAX since 1997 when she started as morning co-anchor of the Morning Newswatch. She soon became News Director in 2000 and in 2004 took on the title of Program Director.
Michelle is an award winning journalist with numerous awards from the Illinois Associated Press, the Illinois Broadcasters Association, and the Radio-Television News Directors Association. Most recently, Michelle was recognized as the 2005 Illinois Associated Press Best Downstate Reporter. Michelle and the WTAX news staff have also been recognized as a 2006 Regional Award Winner for the Edward R. Murrow Award for Overall Excellence. In 2005, the WTAX news staff was recognized as the Illinois Associated Press Station of the Year and as the Best Station for Spot News based on their coverage of the Capitol Shooting in September of 2004.

Dutch is NewsRadio 1240 WTAX's Main Reporter covering the Springfield City Council, Sangamon County Board as well as the Courts and Crime. Dutch can also be heard anchoring middays.
Dutch began his radio career in July of 2000 at WTAX as a weekend anchor and part time reporter.
Dutch joined the U.S. Army in 1995 and served until 1999. He has been a member of the Illinois national guard ever since. He deployed to Iraq in 2003 and served 17 months in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Dutch has a degree in communications from the University of Illinois. |

| John LaTessa is Technical Director for WTAX responsible for the resolution of technical and programming issues, creation and maintenance of WTAX imaging packages, sports engineering, and occasional news anchoring. John can also be heard every Saturday morning on Money Matters with Bill Peterman, and Health Call with Dr. Sean McCaffrey. |

| Vonda anchors Morning Newswatch on NewsRadio WTAX. Before joining WTAX she was a part of "Joey and Vonda in the Morning" on our sister station, Cool 101.9. She took a brief hiatus, but is now back doing news on WTAX and on Cool as well. |

Weekend anchor and reporter Ben Stone is an award winning journalist with more than 20 years of broadcasting experience. Ben spent most of the 80’s and 90’s working at radio and television stations throughout central Illinois and knows the region well. He is also a past president of the Illinois News Broadcasters Association.
Ben’s on-air credits also include freelance work for CBS radio news, ABC-TV news, and the Illinois Radio Network.
Broadcasting has allowed Ben to meet Illinois’ last four governors, former President George H.W. Bush (41) and celebrities from the entertainment and sports worlds, but says he’s had the most fun meeting everyday people from farmers to students, retirees to factory workers, and veterans to volunteers that make up the rich fabric of our community.
